For most applications, the logo should be placed at the top or at the bottom of the layout so that it leads or signs off the piece.
It can align to the left or the right, depending on the communication need. When you align the logo to a corner of the space, keep the same amount of margin between the logo and the two edges.
The logo may be centered when it is the main message in an application, such as on a product, banner, flag or poster.
When centered vertically, make sure the x-height (or the height of the letter “i” without the tittle (dot) in Micron’s logo) is centered, not the full height of the logo.
The logo may be centered vertically on banners, flags and promotional items.
Place the logo with the “m” starting at the top. When centered horizontally, make sure the x-height is centered, not the full width of the logo.
Maintaining an appropriate amount of space around our logos ensures that they are clear and legible. Always follow this spacing requirement and keep other graphic elements and text out of this area. The preferred clear space around our logo is the height of the “i” without the tittle (dot) from “Micron.” The minimum clear space in special circumstances, such as on signage, is one half the stem of “i”.
We measure our logo by the width of the wordmark. We don’t include any additional trademark in the measurement.
